Definition
Back pain is a symptom and complaint of pain sensation in the upper, middle and lower sections of the spine either around the musculature and/or the ligamentous attachments sites. Symptoms of Back Pain
Back pain symptoms can vary, but common signs include persistent aching or stiffness in the lower or upper back, sharp or shooting pain that may radiate down the legs, difficulty standing or sitting for long periods, and limited range of motion. Muscle spasms and discomfort when bending or lifting are also frequent indicators. Severe cases might lead to numbness or weakness in the legs. There are many different causes of back pain. Diagnosis
At Physical Therapy the doctor will begin with a comprehensive examination which will address the onset, cause, duration, severity, vectors, establish the meaningful task and functional tasks that cause the middle back pain treatment. At this point the cause of the back pain will be determined; however diagnostic ultrasonography or an MRI are also very accurate and preferred in determining the stage and extent of the back pain if needed will be carried out.
