Definition of Hip Pain
Hip pain refers to discomfort or soreness in or around the hip joint, which connects the pelvis and the thigh. It can result from various causes, including injury, overuse, inflammation, or conditions like arthritis. Hip pain may be felt in the hip itself, the groin area, or along the outer side of the hip. It can range from mild discomfort to severe, debilitating pain that affects daily activities such as walking, climbing stairs, or sitting for long periods.
Symptoms / Causes
Hip and groin pain can be very painful and sharp and achy in nature. Usually, there is inflammation at the joint causing the pain. In chronic conditions the hip pain treatment can even lose complete range of motion and have referral of pain into the legs and into the gluteal region. At Town PT we believe the hip and groin pain is caused and originated due to a lack of function causing instability, pain and discomfort to the region.

Causes
There are many different causes of hip and groin pain. It can be due to a functional or structural disorder for example trauma, improper development, poor walking mechanics, muscle spasms, vertebral misalignment, muscle weakness, core instability and arthritis. Other causes include but are not limited to:
Diagnosis
Our Town Physical Therapy center, the doctor will begin with a comprehensive functional examination which will address the onset, cause, duration, severity, vectors, establish the meaningful task and functional tasks that cause the hip pain specialist. At this point the cause of groin pain will be determined, however diagnostic ultrasonography or an MRI are also very accurate and preferred in determining the stage and extent of the hip pain treatment if needed will be carried out.
