Back pain is a symptom and complaint of pain sensation in the upper, middle and lower sections of the spine either around the musculature and/or the ligamentous attachments sites. Low Back pain Treatment can start as high as the lower part of your neck and go as far down as near your pelvis and sacrum.


Back pain will be dependent on the area and structures that have been irritated and influenced causing the brain to fire nociception to specific areas of your back. At Town PT, we believe that back pain is due to a lack of function. Back pain can be achy, dull and even at times cause radiation and referred pain. Sometimes back pain can cause numbness and tingling into the leg in this case, medical attention is required.


There are many different causes of back pain. It can be due to a functional or structural disorder; for example muscle spasms, vertebral misalignment, muscle weakness, core instability, arthritis, disk protrusion, disk herniation and many other issues that the doctors at Town PT, will prove to you during the initial examination. At Physical Therapy the doctor will begin with a comprehensive examination which will address the onset, cause, duration, severity, vectors, establish the meaningful task and functional tasks that cause the middle back pain treatment. At this point the cause of the back pain will be determined; however diagnostic ultrasonography or an MRI are also very accurate and preferred in determining the stage and extent of the back pain if needed will be carried out.
